BARKLEY DAM LOCK THROUGH
The Kentucky Lake Sailing Club is inviting everyone to join us this Saturday May 21, 2012.
You can read some preparatory information on the TVA website that will give you some good information on what to expect and preparedness and even has a virtual lock through available online to help you get a feel for the locking process, you can make a virtual lock-through at the Fort Loudoun lock in Lenoir City, Tenn. The virtual lock through uses a 360 degree camera and
QuickTime video to give you a full circle view of the locking process. Look for it near the bottom of this website:
http://www.tva.gov/river/navigation/reclockthrough.htm
Also download or read online the complete lock through guide from US Army Corps of Engineers (Nashville Division) Learn to lock through PDF
They also have a virtual lock through tour on their website at:
http://www.lrn.usace.army.mil/navigation.htm
We will be meeting everyone from the Kentucky lake side on the water outside of Lighthouse Landing at 1:30 PM and then cruising over to meet up with everyone else outside of Green Turtle Bay at 2:15 PM. We will proceed from there. Please monitor channel 16 and we will give instructions from there.
