NOTICE OF RACE
GOVERNOR'S CUP REGATTA
JUNE 9 & 10, 2012
Hosted by Kentucky Lake Sailing Club
1. Invitation
Kentucky Lake Sailing Club cordially invites you and your crew to the 2012 Governor's Cup Regatta June 9th & 10th. The Regatta will be held on Kentucky Lake at Grand Rivers, Ky. out of Lighthouse Landing Marina.
2. Eligibility and Entry
The Regatta will be open to one design, cruiser and racer/cruisers. Participants may enter the race by completing the entry form and being assigned a PHRF handicap number for their boat. Registration forms will be available online at 2012 Governor's Cup Registration and at the on-site registration Friday June 8 at 5:30 P.M.
3. Classes
Classes will be Spinnaker, JAM A and JAM B, or any one design class with five or more entries.
4. Fees
The Regatta fee is $60.00 which includes one tee shirt and one dinner. Additional tee shirts are $14.00. Additional dinners are $12.50.

Registration Friday June 8, 5:30– 7:30 P.M. at the Lighthouse Landing deck. Late registration at 8:00 A.M. Saturday, June 9.
Skippers meeting Saturday June 9, 9:00 A.M. at the Lighthouse Landing dock.
Social and dinner Saturday at 6:00 P.M. at the Lighthouse Landing Deck. (Social open to racers and all club members). Dinner includes brats. burgers, dogs and fixings.
Race starts at approx 10:30 A.M. Saturday June 9th, or as soon as possible after the Skippers Meeting.
6. SCHEDULE OF RACES
6.1 The raceschedule will be as stated in the Notice of Race and will be posted on the official notice board.
6.2 It is the intention of the Race Committee to run a maximum of 5 races on any given day.
6.3 The Race Committee will signal its intent to ran another race that day by displaying flag “R” (yellow cross on a red background) from the finish line Race Committee boat at the finish of the previous race.
7. Racing
The Regatta will consist of as many as 5 races. No race will be started in less than 3 knots of sustained wind, as determined by the Race Committee. Racing will begin at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday or as soon as possible after the Skippers Meeting. No race will be started after 3:00 P.M. on Saturday. On Sunday, skippers will meet on the lake for races which will start at 9:00 A.M. and conclude around noon.
8. Courses
Course will consist of windward leeward and variations thereof. Actual course and course length will be determined by the Race Committtee based on sailing conditions on race day.
9. Launching, docking and hauling
Launching may be done at Lighthouse Landing Marina free of charge. A ramp is available for trailer launching. Docking and hauling can be arranged through LHL at 270-362-8201.
10. Prizes
Trophies will be awarded for 3 places in each class.
Awards will be presented at on the deck at Lighthouse Landing on Sunday approximately 90 minutes after the last race.
11. Insurance
Each participant boat shall be insured by its’ owner with valid third party liability insurance.
12. Lodging
